These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the qkconvert API and related services ("Service") operated by qkconvert ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and API keys. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and API keys. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
qkconvert provides a file conversion API for images, audio, and documents. The Service includes:
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
We do not store your files. Files uploaded for processing are held in memory only for the duration of the request. They are not written to disk, not stored in any database, and not retained after the processed result is returned to you. We do not access, review, or use the content of your files for any purpose other than performing the requested operation.
You retain all rights to your input files and processed output. We claim no ownership or license over your content.
The Service is available under tiered plans, including a free tier. Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Pricing details are available on our pricing page.
Each API operation consumes credits. Different operation types have different credit weights:
| Operation | Credits per request |
|---|---|
| Image processing | 1 credit |
| Document processing | 2 credits |
| Audio processing | 3 credits |
Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Usage beyond the included allowance is billed at the plan's overage rate. The free plan has a hard cap with no overage.
Usage is metered and reported to Stripe for billing. You can monitor your usage in the developer dashboard at any time.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. All fees are in USD. You are responsible for any applicable taxes. Stripe handles all payment processing.
Usage charges: Credits consumed through API requests are non-refundable. The API performed the requested work and returned a result.
Subscription fees: You may cancel your subscription at any time from the developer dashboard. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.
Service issues: If the Service was unavailable or malfunctioning and usage was incorrectly counted during that time, contact us and we will review and issue credit adjustments where appropriate.
Australian Consumer Law: Nothing in this refund policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws. If the Service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy including a refund.
We use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee any specific uptime percentage. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
During downtime, API requests that are rate-limited or rejected due to unavailability are not counted toward your usage. You are not billed for requests that do not return a successful result.
We do not offer a formal Service Level Agreement (SLA) at this time. We may introduce SLA commitments for higher-tier plans in the future.
API keys authenticate your requests. Each key is shown once at creation and cannot be retrieved afterward. You are responsible for keeping your keys secure.
We reserve the right to revoke API keys that are being used in violation of these Terms.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of this section.
Each plan has a rate limit (requests per minute) and a monthly credit quota. These limits protect infrastructure and ensure fair access for all users. Rate-limited requests (HTTP 429) are not billed.
If you consistently need higher limits, upgrade your plan or contact us about custom arrangements.
We own the Service, its code, documentation, and branding. You own your files and the processed output. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual property rights to either party beyond the limited license granted in Section 2.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy conferred on you by the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified by agreement.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) the content of files you process through the Service, or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
Upon termination: your API keys are revoked, your access ends, and your account data is deleted within 30 days. Usage data may be retained in anonymized form for analytics.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, pandemics, government actions, internet or infrastructure failures, power outages, or third-party service disruptions.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
